Lunar Photography
Photograph the rising full moon over the Boston Harbor or city skyline with seasoned photographers by your side. In this outdoor meet-up, we’ll cover the basic settings you’ll need to capture the full moon rising before setting up the perfect shot. The moon rises quickly but with your instructor by your side, you’ll grab the perfect shot.
Bird Photography Basics
Master the art of bird photography from your home—learn the essential prep work and camera techniques that make all the difference in the field. Great bird photography happens long before you step outside. In this online workshop, you'll learn the critical preparation and technical knowledge that separates good bird photos from great ones.
Death Valley
Explore Death Valley National Park, a landscape like no other. In this 5 day / 4 night photography adventure, you’ll photograph star-lit nights, experience sweeping salt flats, and stand beneath 200 ft dunes. With the guidance of professional instructors and the company of other adventurous photographers, you’ll leave with both incredible photographs and lifelong memories.
Photo Walks
Winter is a wonderful season to explore Boston with BPW! Step inside the historic Boston Public Library or wander the Harvard Museum of Natural History as you learn techniques for difficult lighting conditions, all while developing your compositional skills. You’ll meet your instructor in a public place and work side-by-side for the entire session to take better pictures in the field.
Food Photography
Whether you are a foodie wanting to produce Instagram-worthy photos or an aspiring food photographer, this beginner workshop will equip you to shoot delectable photos using simple yet effective techniques.
Macro Photography

Digital Cameras II
Lenses play a pivotal role in photography, determining how much we capture in a picture and the sharpness of our subjects. Focusing and lenses are inseparable, so we’ll also learn the critical focusing tools found inside our cameras to get the most out the lens, and the sharpest photos possible.
Night Photography
Ever wanted to capture the amazing look of a scene during the evening light, or maybe you’re tired of getting dark, underexposed photos? In this class, you’ll meet your instructor in a public space and work side-by-side with a BPW instructor on the technical aspects and integral tricks of nighttime photography.
