Bridges of Cape Cod

Summer is in full swing and we’re taking advantage of golden sunsets and warm summer nights. In this new day trip event we’ll photograph two of Cape Cod’s classic gateways, the Bourne Bridge and Buzzard Bay’s Railroad bridge. Don’t miss this rare workshop!

Infrared & UV Photography

The world we see is only one version of what really exists. Light is made up of different wavelengths, which results in an array of colors we then perceive (think of a rainbow). In this workshop you’ll explore IR and UV photography using modified cameras (provided by the BPW) to capture these unseen colors and create otherworldly photos.

Redcoats & Rebels

Step back in time as hundreds of reenactors bring the American Revolution to life at Old Sturbridge Village. We'll walk the grounds together as a group, photographing period costumes, artisan craftspeople, historic architecture, and the day's live drills, musket and cannon demonstrations, and battle reenactment.

Mid-Coast to Acadia:
Astrophotography Road Trip

Six days in Costal Maine. Five nights under the stars. Three iconic destinations. One unforgettable drive up the Maine coast. This is not your average photography workshop. Starting in Portland and winding northeast to Acadia National Park, this small-group experience combines guided astrophotography instruction with one of the most beautiful road trips in the Northeast.

Lunar Photography

Photograph the rising full moon over the Boston Harbor or city skyline with seasoned photographers by your side. In this outdoor meet-up, we’ll cover the basic settings you’ll need to capture the full moon rising before setting up the perfect shot. The moon rises quickly but with your instructor by your side, you’ll grab the perfect shot.

Bird Photography

Focus, frame, and feathers: A beginner's journey into bird and wildlife photography. Join us for a delightful morning of bird photography at one of two rotating locations. This beginner-friendly workshop combines the joy of birdwatching with photography in a relaxed outdoor setting.

Sunset @ Ogunquit, ME

If you’ve never had the chance to visit Ogunquit, Maine, come see why its name means “beautiful place by the sea.” Together with your BPW instructor, you’ll take in magnificent rocky shores and ocean views from the winding Marginal Way coastal path.

Cape Cod: Birds & Beaches

Cape Cod in early fall is something special. The summer crowds have thinned, the light is golden, and the birds are abundant. Join the BPW for two days of guided bird and nature photography along some of the Cape’s most scenic and productive locations.

Flash for Beginners

A fun introduction to using flash for a variety of subjects and scenarios. Flash, speed light, or pocket strobe: There are many names for the small external light often seen in camera bags. From portraits to weddings, at home studios or outdoor scenes, these small auxiliary lights are tremendously useful for photographers of all kinds.
