“For 2024, I am hoping to take more photos that are ‘spur of the moment’. I find that the more technical and calculated I get about photography, the less feeling my photos evoke to me— and the ability to capture a single moment in time is the reason I first fell in love with photography. I am looking forward to capturing just to capture in this upcoming year!”

Andrew Dion

“In the last couple of years, I’ve felt a surge of growth as someone who takes photos for enjoyment. In 2024, I plan on improving my teaching skills through instructing and assisting classes. I love being a valuable resource for the BPW community by helping students expand their knowledge and find enjoyment out of their photos.”

Sami Wright

“I would love to spend some time with my hard drive this winter and get organized. As I am restructuring my hard drives, I want to take a peek into my Lightroom catalog to edit some older images. As spring returns, I hope to carry around my smaller Fuji to take more documentary style and ‘day to day’ shots!”

Justin Bartels

“I want to shoot more with a telephoto lens. I've spent most of my photography career shooting with an 85mm lens or less. This year, I want to get my hands on a telephoto lens and learn to compose with a focal length I'm not used to. I also want to use it to shoot subjects I don't naturally gravitate towards, like nature photography.”

Javier Rivas

“2024 marks my creative reboot. After a 2023 filled with point and shoot events, I feel a noticeable decline in my creativity, and it’s currently playing a secondary role in my workflow. This year, I’m looking forward to creating just for the sake of creating. I’m revisiting old concepts I’d visualized and I want to capture them into existence. Cheers to a 2024 overflowing with both brilliant and not-so-great ideas!”

Kaela English

“I've been in and out of love with photography for a few years now. In 2024, I want to try a few photo and editing challenges to, hopefully, inspire new ideas. I'd also love to get back into shooting food and product photography. My main focus this year is less about building a portfolio, and more about rediscovering my passion and my own creative spark!”
