The Changing Coast

The Changing Coast is a look at life along the shore told through visual observations of landform, infrastructure, and ecology. This project seeks to open discussion of the real life impacts of a shifting coastline and what it means for the future as we live, work, and interact with the environment in these waterfront areas.

Growing up in eastern Massachusetts, and fortunate to spend every summer by the beach, I have always been drawn to the coast. As the decades have passed I have witnessed storms and flooding intensify, damage grow more severe, and familiar places change forever. My aim with this project was to capture the results of such events and admire what remains of the past while considering the future.
