Postcards From the Edge
Kathy Sferra
For the past two years, while the world stopped due to Covid and my canine buddy, Jerry, was battling cancer, I found refuge on Cape Cod's Outer Beach where I could stand at the meeting of land and sea, and put all the unease behind me. Time stood still, as I immersed myself in the drama of the crashing surf and experimented with camera movement and long exposures -- capturing light and colors invisible to the human eye and a sense of peace amidst the chaos. Jerry was happiest when he was with me on the beach, and showed his appreciation by endlessly rolling in the sand.
I hope these images can be a reminder that calm is always there but sometimes we need to go in search of it.
