Lunar Photography: Moonrise over Castle Island

  • Castle Island United States (map)
Lunar Photography: Moonrise over Boston
$99.00

Have you ever noticed how the full moon looks impossibly huge when it first rises, then seems to shrink as it climbs into the sky? That's the moon illusion, and it's one of the most striking things you can photograph. In this outdoor meet-up, we'll capture that oversized rising moon over Boston Harbor or the city skyline, working with seasoned photographers by your side.

What to expect: We'll start with the camera settings you need to capture the moon as it rises before dialing in the perfect shot. The moon moves fast once it clears the horizon, but with your instructor next to you, you'll be ready for it.

Who Should Attend: This workshop is ideal for beginner to intermediate photographers with a good understanding of their camera and an interest in landscape and moon photography. Experience with a tripod and telephoto lens is encouraged.

Location: Castle Island, South Boston, or other Boston Area Location (meeting details shared after registration)

Weather: Like all outdoor workshops, weather is a variable. ~ 24-48hrs prior to class students will be notified with class information and weather updates. If poor weather is imminent students will have the option to join a rescheduled class date, or receive student credit.
