Studio Lighting

An introduction to using flash, strobes, and other artificial lights.  


In this class, students learn how to control light and accomplish basic but crucial lighting set-ups using flashes, strobes, and hot lights. The class combines discussion-based learning and studio shooting, allowing you to become more familiar and comfortable in this new environment. We also cover some commonly practiced post-production methods. The curriculum includes light modifiers and their functions and different lighting setups to make a flattering portrait of anyone.


  • This indoor class is 4 hours and includes a 20 min break
  • Class size: limit 6

Class Requirements:

  • DSLR, mirrorless camera, or advanced point-and-shoot with "manual mode." We offer camera rentals for the class here.
